Tokyo's Toei Subway is introducing a special storytime event designed for families with young children. On February 28, 2024, participants will gather at the Shimizu Vehicle Maintenance Facility for an engaging reading session featuring delightful children's books. This initiative aims to make public transport more accessible and enjoyable for families.

Event Details

1. Event Date and Time:
- February 28, 2024 (Saturday)
- 10:00 AM (Registration starts at 9:30 AM)
- 12:30 PM (Registration starts at 12:00 PM)
- 3:00 PM (Registration starts at 2:30 PM)
- The event will take place rain or shine, with cancellation only in severe weather.
- The reading session and photo opportunities will last approximately one hour.

2. Location:
- Shimizu Vehicle Maintenance Facility (Address: Takashimadaira 9-1-1, Itabashi Ward, Tokyo)
- Accessible from Nishidai Station (Toei Mita Line), a short 3-minute walk from the East Exit.
- Please use public transportation as there is no parking available on-site.

3. Activities:
- Storytime with selected books, including "Daruma-chan and Tengu-chan" (Fukuinkan Shoten) tailored for children aged 3 to 4 years.
- Photo Opportunities: Attendees are invited to capture memorable moments within the Family Support Space.
- Each participant will receive original novelty goods from Toei Transportation.

4. Participation Limit:
- A maximum of 20 families per session (Total of 60 families)
- Up to four members per family can register.

5. Registration Procedure:
- Interested families can register via the application form.
- Due to potentially high demand, a lottery will determine participants if the number of applicants exceeds the available slots.
- Registration will be open from January 22, 2024, 10:00 AM to February 6, 2024, 5:00 PM.
- Results will be sent via email to successful applicants by February 20, 2024. Unsuccessful candidates will not receive a notification, so please keep this in mind.

6. Special Benefit for ToKoPo Members:
- Toei Transportation's point service, ToKoPo members will have double the chances of winning in the lottery!
- Of the 60 slots, 30 will be reserved for ToKoPo members. Non-members who apply will be entered into a separate lottery for the remaining slots.
- ToKoPo is running a new membership campaign from January 22, 2024, to April 14, 2024, offering 200 points for all new sign-ups, with a chance to win an additional 1,000 points!

7. Additional Resources:
- The venue is equipped with stroller parking and nursing areas.
- Childcare services will be available for children aged 6 months to preschool. Interested families should apply through the registration form.
- For children younger than the targeted age for the storytime, parental supervision is required to participate.
- Please note that due to limited spots for the childcare service, a lottery will be held if applications exceed capacity. Walk-ins may be accommodated based on availability.

Toei Subway has designed the Family Support Space, adorned with popular characters, to create a welcoming environment for families with young children. This initiative includes various layouts across multiple train lines, ensuring a safe and enjoyable travel experience.

What is ToKoPo?

ToKoPo is a point service offered by Toei Transportation. It allows users to accumulate points with each trip made using a registered PASMO card on Toei's trains and buses. Points can be redeemed for future travels or shopping, making it a valuable tool for frequent travelers.
