GoldMining Inc. Launches Its 2025 Exploration Program at São Jorge Project in Brazil
On March 18, 2025, GoldMining Inc. announced significant plans for the São Jorge Project, located in the promising Tapajós gold district in Brazil's Pará State. This ambitious exploration initiative represents the company's most extensive undertaking in its 14-year history.
Key Highlights of the Exploration Program
GoldMining intends to commence an extensive drilling campaign aiming for up to 5,000 meters of systematic drilling. The key features of this exploration program include:
- - Targeting Expansion: The drilling will primarily focus on expanding the existing São Jorge deposit along strike.
- - New Zones: The company aims to drill test newly identified zones of potential mineralization based on high-priority geochemical and geophysical targets.
- - Geophysical Surveys: A crucial aspect of the program involves expanding the existing Induced Polarization (IP) survey to include northern segments over the William South and North prospect areas.
- - Auger and Soil Sampling: The program plans additional auger drilling of up to 3,000 meters over high-grade soil anomalies and a comprehensive soil sampling effort of up to 6,000 samples.
Current Status and Results
The company has already commenced field activities, which include soil sampling, prospecting, and mapping. In the previous 2024 drilling program, results revealed several high-grade auger drill intercepts that present compelling targets for further exploration in the São Jorge mineral system. Notably, recent soil sampling returned an unprecedented gold anomaly of 5.96 grams per ton Au at the William North prospect.
Previous Achievements
In 2024, exceptional auger drilling intercepts were obtained at the William South site, with findings including:
- - 1 meter at 17.14 g/t Au
- - 1 meter at 10.20 g/t Au
- - 5 meters at 2.78 g/t Au, all from shallow depths beneath the surface.
The results have provided strong encouragement for ongoing exploration efforts at São Jorge, which encompasses a mineral system covering an area of 12 km by 7 km, emphasizing the project's vast exploration potential.
Leadership’s Vision
GoldMining’s CEO, Alastair Still, expressed enthusiasm about launching this comprehensive program, emphasizing its potential to unveil previously untapped resources at São Jorge. The company has assembled a high-caliber exploration team, featuring President Paulo Pereira, a seasoned Brazilian geologist, and VP Exploration Tim Smith, who brings over thirty years of global gold exploration experience.
