Osaka University of Electric Communications at Tokyo Game Show 2026

The Osaka University of Electric Communications, located in Neyagawa and Shijonawate cities, will be showcasing at the world-renowned Tokyo Game Show 2026 for the 17th time from September 17 to September 21. This ongoing commitment reflects the university's distinguished legacy in game education, having established Japan's first program dedicated to learning about games over 20 years ago.

Celebrating Game Development and Creativity

This year's exhibition will proudly feature nine student-developed games and six graphic works, handpicked through a rigorous internal selection process, along with two creations from Osaka University of Electric Communications High School. Attendees can expect an impressive range of projects that incorporate unique elements such as self-designed controllers, showcasing the innovative talents of the next generation of game creators.

Metaverse and Industry Collaboration Projects

In addition to the fresh game projects, the university will unveil its ambitious metaverse initiative known as the "Third Campus," created on the cluster platform. This space illustrates the university's collaboration with Toei Animation's Zukun Institute, featuring the second phase of the "Dentsu-kun Project" that aims to blend cutting-edge technology with educational experiences.

Spotlight on OECU eSports

This event is also remarkable for the debut of the OECU eSports, a designated club demonstrating its independent booth for the first time. The initiative will not only showcase competitive gaming but also emphasize the broader skills necessary to thrive in the digital landscape, such as event management and streaming technologies.

An Engaging Booth Experience

Designed by students from the Department of Architecture and Design, the exhibition space will represent a fusion of play and learning, captivating visitors with its immersive three-dimensional presentation. This innovative setup is designed to enhance visitor engagement while providing the ideal setting for media coverage and interviews.

Direct Interaction and Practical Education

Students involved in project development will be present at the booth to explain their creations directly to attendees. This hands-on experience allows them to receive valuable feedback from industry professionals, turning the exhibition into a practical educational platform that connects academia with the real world.
