Revamping the Agricultural Value Chain in Ehime with kikitori's Triangle Ehime 2.0 Initiative
In a significant move towards enhancing the agricultural landscape, kikitori Inc. has been officially adopted into the Triangle Ehime 2.0 initiative, a project championed by Ehime Prefecture. The company's headquarters are located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and led by CEO Seiki Uemura. This initiative is poised to revolutionize the agricultural value chain in Ehime by promoting digital transformation (DX) to increase producers' income throughout the region.
Project Overview
The Triangle Ehime 2.0 project is set to implement various strategies from July 2, 2025, until March 31, 2026. With a focus on local JA (Japan Agricultural Cooperatives) collaboration, the project aims to tackle pressing issues like high-temperature damage and the aging farmer population. By leveraging data to connect producers, JA, distributors, and transport companies, the initiative strives to create a sustainable and lucrative agricultural environment in Ehime.
Objectives of the Initiative
- - Enhancing Income Generation: The project emphasizes implementing and establishing digital technology within local industries to increase profitability.
- - Skill Development: It also aims to train human resources adept in utilizing digital technologies in agricultural practices.
- - Model Development: Through this project, successful case studies will be created, first in collaboration with two specific JA organizations, subsequently expanding to all 11 JAs across the prefecture.

Kikitori's Approach
On-Site DX Initiatives
To ensure a comprehensive approach to problem-solving — from production to sales — kikitori puts an emphasis on user experience (UX) that enables even elderly producers to navigate the digital interface with ease. This method facilitates better integration of technology directly on the farm.
Optimization Through Data Connectivity
One of the core strategies includes sharing shipping schedules and distribution information in real-time with sellers and transport companies, which allows for planned and strategic transactions with optimal partners. This data-driven approach aims to streamline the sales and distribution processes significantly.
Expanding the Model Across the Region
Kikitori plans to pilot its initiatives with two JA organizations, from which successful models will be developed and later expanded across all JA partners in Ehime. Ultimately, the goal is to share the successful outcomes from Ehime as a model for similar collaborations nationwide.
Future Prospects
Through this comprehensive initiative, kikitori aims to enhance the optimization of production, sales, and distribution, leading to increased sales volumes for local products while improving producers' income. Additionally, the experience gained from over 100 JA implementations across the country will be instrumental in leveraging kikitori's fruit and vegetable distribution-focused SaaS, known as 'nimaru'. This will significantly contribute to building a more robust agricultural DX infrastructure that balances profitability and sustainability in the primary sector.
In summary, kikitori is at the forefront of reshaping agricultural practices in Ehime, aligning traditional farming with modern digital innovation to ensure a thriving future for local farmers and the agricultural sector at large.
