M&A Capital Partners Teams Up with TV Osaka Group for Regional Revitalization

Introduction

M&A Capital Partners Inc. (hereafter referred to as MACP), headquartered in Chuo, Tokyo and led by President Satoru Nakamura, has announced a strategic partnership with TV Osaka Group's subsidiary, TV Osaka Service (based in Chuo, Osaka City, led by President Hideki Tagami). This initiative marks the launch of the 17th phase of MACP’s 'Regional Co-Creation Project,' aiming to broaden the options for business succession and growth in the Kansai region, set to officially commence on August 29, 2025.

Background of the Partnership

Historically, the Kansai region, particularly Osaka, has served as a vital commercial and industrial hub supporting Japan's economy. The region's well-developed transportation network has established its position as a logistics center, attracting a diverse array of industries and creating a prominent economic zone. The manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and chemical industries are notably advanced here, with numerous global corporations maintaining headquarters in Osaka and neighboring Hyogo Prefecture.

Despite the thriving business landscape, the region faces a significant challenge — a higher than average rate of successor shortage among enterprises, as reported by Teikoku Databank. This issue is particularly acute in small and medium-sized enterprises, which form the backbone of the local economy. Industries that drive economic growth, including manufacturing and retail, are witnessing an alarming trend of aging management, leading to difficulties in finding successors.

The failure to address business succession could potentially lead to closures, which would negatively impact employees, their families, business partners, and the local economy. The loss of accumulated expertise and knowledge would further exacerbate the situation. Therefore, it is crucial for business owners to proactively consider succession planning and to prepare successors early.

Given these circumstances, MACP and the TV Osaka Group recognized the necessity of promoting awareness regarding business succession and growth among local entrepreneurs. By leveraging MACP's extensive M&A advisory experience alongside TV Osaka Group's powerful communication capabilities and established local trust, both parties aim to harness their strengths through this partnership.

Overview of the Partnership

This strategic alliance follows the earlier announcement made on October 4, 2023, regarding MACP’s collaboration with national newspaper companies under the 'Regional Co-Creation Project.' The partnership with TV Osaka Group signifies the expansion of efforts focused on disseminating information about business succession and growth tailored to the Kansai area.

Historically, MACP has engaged with local business owners through initiatives such as appearances on programs like 'LBS Local Business Satellite,' and through broadcasting commercials featuring MACP's 'Lion President.' By expanding their outreach through television media in addition to traditional print, MACP aims to enhance visibility and effectively communicate the importance of business succession and growth to a broader audience.

The focus will be on disseminating effective messaging related to business succession and growth options while identifying companies facing challenges in succession planning, growth strategies, and corporate revitalization. MACP’s subsidiary, Mirai FP, is responsible for corporate revitalization efforts.
