The Asian Hall of Fame is gearing up for an exciting evening on May 1, 2025, as it hosts the highly anticipated third installment of the California Icons Gala at the historic Biltmore Los Angeles. This black-tie event not only serves to celebrate and honor the latest inductees but also aims to raise crucial funds for initiatives focused on women in technology, entertainment, and the arts, as well as the newly established Women's Investment Nurse Association.
The evening will be marked by the presence of esteemed personalities including Nancy Kwan, an iconic figure whose contributions to film and culture continue to resonate today. Kwan, who is also serving as the keynote speaker, is set to share insights from her forthcoming memoir, "The World of Nancy Kwan". Additionally, the 2025 Woman of the Year award will be given to Lynn Valbuena, the chairwoman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, who is recognized for her outstanding leadership and influence within her community.
Joining Kwan and Valbuena will be the Asian Hall of Fame’s Board Chairman, Charlie Zhang, and esteemed members including California's 34th state treasurer, Fiona Ma, and Edgewater Capital founder, Cindy Y. Huang. A variety of other notable names are expected, including the Hungarian Consul General Istvan Grof, Arcadia’s Mayor Pro Tem Sharon Kwan—sister to actor Ke Huy Quan—and several inductees from previous years.
In a delightful addition, the gala will feature performances from various artists, including musical director Ed Roth and entertainers like Susie Suh and Maki Mae. Furthermore, the Asian Hall of Fame's Dragon Crew, an impressive hip-hop collective, will be making its debut under the direction of Aukai Cain.
To enhance guests' experience, complimentary champagne and wine will be provided courtesy of Faith Ocean and Amryn Wines. In addition, a charity auction featuring memorabilia from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel will take place, spotlighting signed items from prominent figures such as Shohei Ohtani and Taylor Swift. The red carpet will kick off the festivities at 4 PM, followed by dinner from 6 PM to 8 PM. Guests can take advantage of valet parking for $35 or verified self-parking for $25.
