Experience the Ethereal Beauty of Beniko Choji's Art
From June 18 to June 23, 2024, Ginza Mitsukoshi will host a captivating solo exhibition featuring the renowned Japanese artist, Beniko Choji. Titled _Hana Kotoba_ (Flower Words), this art showcase offers a glimpse into the delicate and breathtaking representations of women through the lens of Japanese painting.
A Tribute to Beauty and Emotion
Choji’s works are not merely paintings; they are a celebration of beauty, life, and the deep emotions that flowers symbolize. Each piece is an invitation to reflect on the connections we share with nature and one another. At the heart of the exhibition is the concept that flowers, much like art, can illuminate our daily lives with their presence.
The artist expresses,
“Just as flowers are beautiful, they convey life, and we wish to share that beauty with others instead of mere words.” In her artwork, Choji hopes to encapsulate the sentiment that these flower-like creations carry meaningful messages for the audience, akin to flowers conveying emotions through their bloom.
New Works and Limited Editions
The exhibition also features newly created Giclée prints, with a total of sixteen editions available for purchase, including the pieces titled _Hoboemi_ (Smile), _Saku Toki_ (The Time of Bloom), and _Hana Hiraku Toki_ (The Time Flowers Bloom). These prints not only showcase her artistic style but also come with Choji's signature, ensuring their uniqueness. Limited to just 30 copies, these editions differ from her traditional Japanese paintings.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with Beniko Choji during special gallery talk sessions held on June 21 and 22, from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. These sessions promise to provide deeper insight into her creative process and the motivations behind her beautiful works.
