The RIG 1938 Achieves Two Historic Guinness World Records

In a remarkable achievement for Qatar, The RIG 1938, designed by Qetaifan Projects, has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records™ for two significant milestones. This groundbreaking announcement was made by H.E Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during a press conference held at the picturesque shores of Meryal Water Park, located on the beautiful Qetaifan Island North.

The first record acknowledges The RIG 1938 as the tallest water slide in the world, standing tall at 76.309 meters. The second title celebrates it as the first water slide tower to feature 12 slides, creating a unique and thrilling experience for water enthusiasts of all ages. This distinction not only marks an exciting development in Qatar's entertainment sector but also reinforces the nation's commitment to becoming a leading global tourist destination.

The event was graced by prominent figures, including representatives from Rixos Hotel, esteemed dignitaries, and media professionals, all gathered to celebrate this significant milestone. H.E Sheikh Nasser expressed his pride in this accomplishment, emphasizing that it exemplifies Qetaifan Projects' vision of creating a global tourism hub that seamlessly merges tradition with innovative entertainment.

The water slide complex is connected to Meryal Water Park via a historical train, enhancing the adventurous spirit for visitors.

The park itself covers a massive area of 281,000 square meters, making it one of the largest water parks in the region, with 36 state-of-the-art water attractions designed to cater to families and thrill-seekers alike. Meryal Water Park, as the crown jewel of Qetaifan Island North, is an exemplary model of combining culture and entertainment, hosting multiple facilities, including the Rixos Premium Hotel, Azure Beach Club, a retail area, the iconic Twenty-Seven Mosque, as well as various educational and medical facilities.
