FREELANDER Expands into the Middle East and Sets Sights on Africa
FREELANDER Expands into New Markets
FREELANDER is set to make a significant move in the automotive market as the brand embarks on its expansion plans across the Middle East and Africa. This ambitious strategy will unfold in phases, with a full-scale entry into 11 Middle Eastern markets planned for the first half of 2027, while Morocco will serve as the gateway into Africa.
A Vision for Market Penetration
FREELANDER aims to cover a broad array of Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Oman, and Egypt. This strategic rollout reflects FREELANDER's commitment to establishing a robust presence in emerging markets and nurturing customer relationships.
The brand's approach has transitioned from initial presentations and discussions about partnerships to preparing the necessary sales and service infrastructures. Ms. Lucia Mao, the CEO of FREELANDER International, articulated the brand's core philosophy by emphasizing the importance of trust, stating, "For me, bringing FREELANDER to the world means more than entering new markets. It means earning the trust of our customers, every day. That takes a great product, strong local partners, and service people can rely on."
In the UAE, the partnership with Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors will facilitate the launch of FREELANDER 8 in the first quarter of 2027. The recent FREELANDER Nightfall event during the 2026 Chery International User Summit indicated plans for further partnerships, particularly in Bahrain and Oman, underlining the brand's proactive strategy.
Entering Africa Through Morocco
Morocco represents the first step for FREELANDER into Africa and will join Tunisia as part of the initial African market group. Preparations for this entry are already underway, with an anticipated mid-2027 launch. The company aims to collaborate with local partners to tailor sales, after-sales, and product introduction strategies to the specific conditions of each market.
As the brand ventures into new territories, the timing, vehicle specifications, pricing, and sales arrangements will be announced through official channels, ensuring transparency and reliability for potential customers.
