Diverse Village USHIKU Opens with Exciting Pre-launch Event

Diverse Village USHIKU: A Game-Changer for Disability Employment

In a groundbreaking move towards fostering a more inclusive society, Start Line Inc., led by CEO Kenji Nishimura, is set to unveil the Diverse Village USHIKU. Slated for opening on January 5, 2026, this new initiative will be located in the Esguard Ushiku Building in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The facility aims to create a space where people with disabilities can thrive professionally while living authentically.

What is Diverse Village?

Diverse Village USHIKU will offer comprehensive employment support services tailored for individuals with disabilities. This facility will feature three distinct support programs:
1. BYSN - A roastery-type employment support service focusing on coffee production.
2. IBUKI - An indoor farming employment support service dedicated to cultivating various herbs and vegetables.
3. INCLU - A satellite office providing support for disability employment initiatives.

These services will be housed on a single floor, allowing companies that utilize these offerings to directly employ individuals with disabilities. Employees will have the opportunity to engage in a range of tasks, from light work, like coffee roasting and herb cultivation, to office duties, providing adaptable work environments tailored to their skills and growth.

The facility also aims to promote community engagement through an open area that will host seminars and social events, thus encouraging interaction between local residents and working individuals with disabilities. This vision aligns with the mission of creating a society that celebrates coexistence and respect.

Employment Opportunities at Diverse Village USHIKU

The facility is expected to accommodate around 30 companies, collectively creating job opportunities for approximately 120 individuals with disabilities. This initiative not only aims to provide jobs but also fosters an inclusive work culture where every individual can shine in their unique capacities.
