Successful Commissioning of 300 MW/1200 MWh Energy Storage Plant in China
Successful Commissioning of a Major Energy Storage Facility
In a noteworthy development within the renewable energy sector, the first phase of China’s largest electrochemical energy storage station has been successfully commissioned. This colossal facility boasts a capacity of 300 MW/1200 MWh and is powered by the cutting-edge Power Conversion System (PCS) provided by SINEXCEL, which has a capacity of 1725 kW.
Project Overview
Located in Shenzhen, this project is a critical part of a larger initiative that will eventually see a total capacity of 600 MW/2400 MWh. The first phase includes 240 battery containers and 60 prefabricated power cabinets, ensuring that the site operates at maximum efficiency. This ambitious project aims to integrate wind, solar, heat, storage, and transmission capabilities, thereby maximizing renewable energy utilization and improving overall system flexibility.
Advanced Technology Implementation
SINEXCEL has made significant contributions to this project by supplying 60 prefabricated cabinets equipped with 180 PCS, each capable of operating at an impressive 98.5% efficiency. The advanced multi-chain technology embedded within the power system enhances battery protection and supports flexible configurations of 1, 2, 4, or 8 battery strings. The combined AC/DC output not only simplifies system control but also paves the way for future expansions. With IP54 rated cabinets, the installation is designed to perform reliably in outdoor conditions.
Equipped with a rapid response time of just 10 ms, this system meets essential compliance standards across North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and China, making it a versatile solution for grid stabilization during peak demand.
Global Reach and Impact
SINEXCEL's presence in over 40 countries and its multitude of deployments — more than 5000 installations globally — underscore the company's expertise in energy storage solutions. With a storied history, SINEXCEL has now installed over 12 GW of energy storage projects spanning utility-scale, commercial, industrial, and microgrid sectors.
The successful execution of this energy storage project not only illustrates SINEXCEL's technological prowess but also reiterates its commitment to building a resilient and sustainable energy future. Founded in 2007, SINEXCEL has emerged as a primary player in the energy storage market, along with the development of electric vehicle charging systems and high-quality energy solutions. Their partnerships with industry leaders like EVE Energy and Schneider Electric further highlight their dedication to ensuring energy independence and advancement.
Looking Ahead
With the completion of this initial phase and the duration of future developments, it’s expected that the integrated systems will significantly elevate the utilization of renewable energy sources in the region. As cities around the globe strive for greater sustainability, the role of advanced energy storage solutions like those offered by SINEXCEL will be pivotal in illuminating the path toward a greener future.
