M&M International Expands Operations with New Facility in Costa Rica to Enhance Medical Solutions

M&M International's New Facility in Costa Rica

M&M International, a prominent player in the production of stainless-steel tubing, is set to broaden its horizons by establishing a new manufacturing facility in Costa Rica, specifically within the Greenpark free-trade zone in Coyol. This development comes at a pivotal moment for the company, as it aims to deepen its impact in the medical device market—a sector that demands high precision and reliability.

Scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2027, this new facility is designed to meet the growing needs of customers across the U.S. and Latin America. Jeff Robertson, the CEO of M&M, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, "Opening our third manufacturing facility increases our agility and ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers around the world." The company, which boasts over three decades of expertise in manufacturing, plans to recruit a skilled workforce from the local community, further contributing to the economic landscape of Costa Rica.

The first phase of the operation will encompass 40,000 square feet dedicated to producing stainless steel medical tubing, which plays a critical role in various medical applications, including catheters, needles, robotics, and surgical instruments. Robertson emphasized the state-of-the-art aspects of the upcoming facility, which will include a diverse range of alloys, processes, and technical support aimed at meeting the stringent demands of their target markets. As M&M International continues to enhance its global reach, this facility is strategic in its ability to nearly double in size, thereby expanding the production capacity to support a wider array of customer needs.

Founded in 1993, M&M International has established itself as a leader in manufacturing small-diameter stainless-steel tubing made from advanced materials such as 300 series alloys, Inconel 625, and 17-7 stainless steel—crucial for high-precision medical devices and applications. This recent announcement follows the company's acquisition of South Korean tubing manufacturer, KC Tech, earlier in the year, which significantly boosted M&M’s manufacturing capabilities and diversified its product offerings.

With its headquarters based in Edison, New Jersey, M&M International continues to focus on delivering exceptional quality, value, and service to its global clientele. The upcoming Costa Rican facility is a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation and adaptability in a rapidly evolving market.
