The Shibuya Area has been meticulously recreated at a scale of 1:80, allowing visitors to grasp the dynamic urban landscape where approximately 60% of inbound tourists from around the globe flock. The area showcases an intricate network of above-ground and underground transport systems, embodying the hustle and bustle characteristic of Shibuya.
Opening Ceremony Event
On June 11th, the grand opening ceremony commenced at 10:30 AM at the third floor of Small Worlds Tokyo, featuring a ribbon-cutting event along with engaging discussions about Shibuya, led by prominent figures such as Akio Kawakita, Vice-chairman of the Akita Inu Preservation Society, Masahiro Yoshikawa from Darling Honey's Railway BIG4, and Yusuke Minada from Horipro/Stella Casting Railway BIG4. The creators behind this immersive experience include Yu Inukawa from Cityscape Studio, renowned for their expertise in urban modeling.
This vibrant new area captures the duality of day and night, allowing visitors to witness the lively Shibuya through detailed miniature structures. The masterfully recreated scenes are enriched with realistic soundscapes, such as the clattering of trains and the ambient noise of a bustling urban crossroads.
