In a recent investigation by Trecapro Inc., a company focused on the trading card industry, insights were garnered about the motivations behind participating in card raffles. The official survey, conducted on their platform "Card Raffle Summary Tregato" and shared through their social media account, gathered responses from users about who they enter these raffles for and when they began participating.
The results showed that a significant 70.1% of respondents entered raffles for their own personal enjoyment, which amounted to 122 votes out of a total of 174. In contrast, only 10.9% indicated they were entering on behalf of their family or children. If we sum those entering for both themselves and their family (14.9%), it becomes evident that 25.9% of participants have family considerations in their entries.
When asked about the starting point for their raffle participation, the overwhelming majority—36.3%—reported they began entering in 2026, indicating a rising trend in recent entries. Conversely, 30.8% stated they had been entering for over three years, suggesting that there remains a dedicated cohort of long-term participants in the community.
The survey results showcased a clear trend: 62.6% of respondents (114 votes) indicated they began entering raffles either this year or within the past two years. This finding highlights a dynamic participant base that is not static, indicating that raffle participation is a continually evolving hobby.
Notably, the majority demographic of participants are individuals in their 30s, who account for 43.9% of the current entrants. These individuals are primarily motivated by personal interest rather than familial obligations.
In addition to the survey on who participants are entering for, a corollary survey revealed that over one-third of entrants also started participating this year, reinforcing the idea that the landscape is changing, with new faces contributing to the excitement surrounding trading card collectibles.
Interestingly, many newcomers to the raffle scene face challenges when figuring out the various deadlines for different products and stores. For instance, a recent analysis revealed that 98.3% of raffles for a special Pokémon card set were closed before the official release date, making it crucial for new participants to stay informed about submissions.
To assist entrants, Tregato provides a comprehensive aggregation of raffle and reservation information for popular card games like Pokémon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Dragon Ball. Their platform organizes this information by deadlines, minimizing the effort required for participants to find where and when to enter.
The survey indicates that the landscape of trading card raffles is robust and diverse, accommodating both long-time enthusiasts and newcomers eager to join in on the fun. Tregato demonstrates its commitment to facilitating this process by regularly updating its data regarding available raffles and submission guidelines.
The findings reveal a vibrant community that thrives on the thrill of participation, no matter for whom the entries are made. Whether it’s for personal gain or the hope of sharing joy with family, trading card raffles remain a popular pursuit among gaming enthusiasts.
