Chance Kornuth’s Journey Unveiled in Newly Released WSOP Documentary

Americas Cardroom, a premier online poker destination, has introduced an engaging documentary that shadows ACR Poker Pro Chance Kornuth during the high-stakes $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller event at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) held in Las Vegas. This unique film presents a mix of intense tournament footage along with Kornuth’s in-depth analysis of tricky hands, along with candid discussions surrounding the nuances of the game.

The tournament, which is recognized as WSOP Event #55, attracted a remarkable 110 entries, resulting in a staggering prize pool of $5.225 million. The first-place winner was rewarded with an impressive $1,368,700, showcasing the stakes at play. Noteworthy competitors in the field included renowned players like Daniel Negreanu and Martin Kabrhel, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

Kornuth’s journey through the tournament is nothing short of dramatic. He recounts how he faced an uphill battle, starting Day 1 with just 1,000 chips and managing to rebuild his stack to an impressive 900,000 at one point. Throughout the documentary, he reflects on various hands, including one wary bet that makes him question whether an alternative sizing might have led to a more favorable outcome. The film not only focuses on the thrilling action on the felt but dives deep into the strategic thought process that drives top-level poker decisions.

Additionally, Kornuth discusses the implications of late registration and re-entries, sharing insights with fellow players about the potential advantages and pitfalls these elements bring to the game. He muses whether setting limits on the duration for initial entries while allowing those who registered earlier to re-enter might enhance the overall experience for recreational players.

Kornuth is no stranger to the spotlight, having won four WSOP bracelets over his career, with his first victory coming in a $5,000 PLO event back in 2010. He joined the ranks of the ACR Poker Pro team in May 2026, further solidifying his status in the poker community. Recently, he also made significant strides in the Dual Mystery Bounty Venom tournaments, finishing sixth in PLO and seventh in No-Limit Hold'em in September.

The documentary beautifully captures not just the challenges faced on the poker table but also highlights candid table exchanges and Kornuth’s thoughts regarding the extended blind levels on Day 2. It juxtaposes these with discussions happening in the ACR Poker Discord channel, where players are encouraged to dissect hands and learn from each other's experiences. This aspect brings a community feel to the competitive nature of the game, proving that poker is as much about connection and collaboration as it is about competition.

For viewers looking to dive into the thrilling world of high-stakes poker and better understand the intricacies of tournament play, the documentary is available for viewing on ACR Poker's YouTube channel. It serves as a perfect entry point for both fans and aspiring players intrigued by the high-octane atmosphere of the WSOP, and the decision-making processes that define poker greatness.

As Americas Cardroom celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026, the launch of this documentary not only highlights their commitment to the poker community but also underscores the growing popularity of sharing gaming experiences through social media and video content.
