Polymaker Adjusts Pricing on Punkroma™ PLA Series to 3,000 Yen VAT Included

Pricing Update for Polymaker's Punkroma™ PLA Series

Sunstella Co., a leading Japanese distributor of 3D printers and filaments based in Toshima, Tokyo, has made a significant announcement regarding Polymaker's renowned material line, the Punkroma™ PLA series. In an effort to enhance brand visibility and improve user convenience, the company is adjusting the pricing of the PLA series products to a new unified price of 3,000 Yen, tax inclusive. This price change aims to streamline the purchasing process for users and make 3D printing materials more accessible to a broader range of customers.

Details of the Price Adjustment

The new price of 3,000 Yen (tax excluded price: 2,727 Yen) applies to the entire lineup of the Punkroma™ PLA series, which includes various types such as Matte (formerly PolyTerra™ PLA), Satin, Translucent, Silk, Metallic, Marble, Dual Matte, Dual Silk, Gradient Matte, Gradient Satin, and Gradient Translucent (Rainbow). Notably, the 1,800 Yen pricing for Punkroma™ CoPE remains unchanged, and the ongoing sale of the old PolyTerra™ PLA will continue. It is worth mentioning that products available through international orders will have separate pricing.

Why the Change?

As the 3D printer market increasingly shifts towards multi-color capabilities and design-oriented applications, the significance of material selection has amplified. However, challenges like varying prices for different colors and materials, confusing brand pricing, and barriers to entry for beginners have come to the forefront. With this new pricing model—where any color and material is priced uniformly at 3,000 Yen—the aim is to remove financial concerns from the decision-making process, enabling users to choose materials based on their intended use, design choices, and functionality.

Background on Punkroma™ Series

The Punkroma™ series emphasizes exceptional consistency in color management, a strong point derived from Polymaker’s expertise in filament production. Regardless of variations in production batches, the series ensures uniformity in color, which is crucial for extensive printing projects and long durations of use. Users can expect to access the same reliable color anytime, eliminating concerns about inconsistency during their printing endeavors. Additionally, the distinctly colorful cardboard spools are designed for easy handling and are less prone to wear, making them suitable for printers equipped with color engines.

Sunstella's Commitment

Sunstella’s experience as a specialized distributor of 3D printers and materials is evident in its sales performance, boasting over 3,500 3D printers sold annually and selling more than 50,000 spools of filament. With one of the largest inventories in Japan, Sunstella is well-suited to provide products and services tailored for the Japanese market. This pricing initiative reflects Sunstella’s commitment to accelerating the popularity of the Punkroma™ brand while fostering an environment that maximizes creativity for users in their 3D printing journeys.
