In an increasingly globalized business environment, organizations are recognizing the importance of fostering employee engagement and a sense of belonging within their teams. To help facilitate this, Randstad Inc., a leader in comprehensive human resource services based in Tokyo, is collaborating with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan, the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Japan (NCCJ), and NN Life Insurance Co., Ltd. to host a free online webinar on July 31st. This session aims to discuss effective strategies for enhancing employee engagement and belonging through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

Embracing Diversity and Inclusion with Dutch Insights



The Netherlands stands as a model for progressive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDI&B) practices, where individual differences are acknowledged and supported by both legislation and cultural norms. Key aspects of the Dutch approach include:

  • - Equity: Discriminating against employees based on their type of employment is prohibited by law.
  • - Diversity: Job sharing opportunities facilitate employment at various life stages.
  • - Inclusion: A culture where differences are normalized, allowing everyone to feel accepted.

These elements create an environment where individuals can genuinely be themselves, leading to a heightened sense of belonging. Randstad aims to shift the focus from molding individuals to fit an organization, advocating instead for a flexible transformation of society to accommodate various ways of living.
