Frederick Health Receives Prestigious National Awards for Excellence in Cardiac Care
Frederick Health, a leading healthcare institution located in Maryland, continues to set benchmarks in health care excellence, particularly in cardiac and stroke care. The hospital team is comprised of highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing outstanding emergency care to the local community. This commitment has not gone unnoticed. Recently, Frederick Health earned three significant honors from the American Heart Association that affirm its unwavering dedication to quality healthcare.
The awards, namely:
1. Get With The Guidelines® - Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Gold
2. Get With The Guidelines® - Coronary Artery Disease NSTEMI Gold
3. Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus with Target Stroke Honor Roll
These accolades mark the fourth consecutive year that Frederick Health has achieved this prestigious recognition, highlighting the institution's commitment to continuous improvement and excellent patient outcomes.
The Get With The Guidelines initiative aims to eliminate barriers to effective treatment for individuals experiencing heart attacks—classified as STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) or NSTEMI (Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)—and stroke emergencies. In the previous year alone, Frederick Health successfully treated upwards of 2,160 patients with cardiac conditions and more than 500 stroke patients. This impressive number showcases their readiness to tackle prevalent health crises in the community head-on.
Amy Burrier, the Director of Cardiac Vascular Services at Frederick Health, expressed her pride in the accolades earned. “Frederick Health is a leader in cardiac and stroke care. From innovative procedures to state-of-the-art facilities and a nearly hundred-strong team of trained cardiac professionals, we are wholly committed to serving our community's health needs.
