nyumen (warm somen noodles). In collaboration with
Goshiki Somen Co., Ltd., famous for its colorful `Goshiki` noodles from Ehime, participants can indulge in the authentic taste of the region enhanced with toppings like
jako tempura and
kamaboko. From 12:30 pm on February 1, a total of 1,000 servings will be available (subject to availability).
About Goshiki Somen
Founded in 1635 during the Kan’ei era in Matsuyama, Goshiki Somen has a rich history of noodle production spanning over 380 years. The concept of coloring the noodles was inspired by an anecdote involving the daughter of the eighth-generation owner during a shrine visit, leading to the creation of five-colored noodle varieties that garnered praise from the shogunate and imperial court. The recipe has adapted through the ages while maintaining an unwavering dedication to natural ingredients.
Refreshing Honey Lemon Water
As a company deeply rooted in the local culture, Daiki Axis proudly supports local products. For the event, they will offer warm honey lemon water made from
blue lemons sourced from Iwaki Island in Ehime Prefecture. This refreshing beverage will be available on January 31 during registration and throughout the marathon on February 1. Due to limited quantities, availability may vary at that time.
Social Media Photo Spot
Attendees on January 31 and February 1 can also enjoy a social media-themed photo spot complete with face-hole panels. It’s an excellent opportunity for runners to commemorate their participation by capturing photos before and after the race.
‘Suttemo Muidemo’ Baggage Claim Bags
As part of the event, Daiki Axis will distribute baggage claim bags to some runners featuring the phrase ‘Suttemo Muidemo’, a local expression from the Tanbara region of Ehime meaning ‘by all means’. This phrase, commonly used by the company’s founder, encapsulates the spirit of perseverance and determination. It also reflects the company’s mission statement that encourages overcoming challenges without giving up.
