His deep understanding of the institution—located in the Holy Land and governed by the Vatican and the De La Salle Brothers—has given him a unique connection to its mission, which serves a predominantly Palestinian student body. Around 80% of these students identify as Muslim, with 80% being female. Notably, Howell's most recent involvement with the foundation occurred in Bethlehem mere days before the October 7th attack, allowing him to gain insights into the complexities that Catholic institutions face in challenging global contexts.
