Celebrating a Legacy: Jerry Stoneberger's 35 Years with McGrory Glass

A Fond Farewell: Celebrating Jerry Stoneberger's Retirement

The McGrory Glass team recently gathered to honor Jerry Stoneberger as he embarks on a new chapter after 35 years with the company. Jerry, who served as the Director of Radiation Glass and Shielding, received heartfelt appreciation and well wishes from colleagues during a memorable retirement dinner filled with laughter and gratitude.

Throughout his time at McGrory Glass, Jerry demonstrated unparalleled dedication and an exemplary work ethic. His contributions not only shaped the success of the company but fostered strong relationships with clients and coworkers alike. Jerry's leadership style, characterized by integrity and humor, is fondly remembered by many, including CEO Chris McGrory, who remarked on Jerry's relentless pursuit of excellence while maintaining a positive attitude, uplifting those around him.

Jerry joined McGrory Glass in November 1989 after initially working as a buyer for a glazing company. His journey began when he approached the McGrory family to purchase glass for his projects. Little did he know, that initial interaction would lead to a fulfilling career. Reflecting on his time with the company, Jerry described John and Mary McGrory as a second family, crediting them for creating a supportive environment that allowed him to thrive.

“McGrory Glass is more than just a workplace; it’s a family,” Jerry said, highlighting the camaraderie he felt with his colleagues—whom he considered brothers and sisters. This sense of belonging motivated Jerry to go above and beyond in his role, and he often shared his knowledge with others, ensuring that they had the same opportunity to succeed.

During the retirement celebration, many team members took turns expressing their admiration for Jerry. Caitlin Rebechi, a Senior Project Manager, affectionately referred to Jerry as a 'work dad', sharing that his guidance and support made her journey easier and more enjoyable. Similarly, Office Administrator Nancy McKendrick emphasized the special bond she shared with Jerry, stating, “Every day with Jerry is memorable. I’m going to miss him so much.”

Jerry's ability to lighten the mood was noted by Brianna Nastasi, the Director of Architectural Products. She described him as the type of person who could bring a smile to anyone’s face, no matter the circumstances. Richard Whitcombe, Senior Project Manager, added, “His demeanor and personality made him a joy to be around, and he created an energy that was truly unique.”

Reflecting on his career, Jerry expressed his gratitude for the opportunities provided by McGrory Glass. He was especially thankful for the mentorship he received from various individuals throughout his journey. John Clark and Bridget Lira, Senior Sales Consultants, also expressed their appreciation for Jerry’s guidance, which helped them navigate the complexities of the glass industry.

As Jerry begins this new stage in his life, he plans to enjoy more time with his grandchildren, travel, and engage in fitness activities. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of mentorship, dedication, and laughter. The team at McGrory Glass recognizes the profound impact he had on their lives and is thankful for the time they shared.
