Riot Games Introduces New Champions for 2XKO
Riot Games has announced that its free-to-play 2v2 team-based fighting game,
2XKO, will welcome two new champions:
Senna, the Redeemer, and
Thresh, the Chain Warden. Both characters will be available starting
June 10. In addition to this exciting update, a new PvE mode titled
The Climb will also be launched, providing players with a fresh challenge.
New Champion: Senna, the Redeemer
Senna, known as the
Light's Guardian, carries the burden of darkness as she unleashes her esteemed
Relic Cannon upon her foes, transforming into a shadowy wraith for relentless assaults. Possessing the unique ability to switch between two forms, she excels at redeeming lost souls from eternal damnation. This highly trained celestial guardian makes her debut in 2XKO on June 10, promising players a nuanced and engaging experience.
New Champion: Thresh, the Chain Warden
In contrast,
Thresh is a cunning and tactical spirit who revels in inflicting pain. He torments his adversaries by capturing their souls in his lantern, eternally sealing their suffering. Utilizing chains, he strikes unpredictably and can teleport using his lantern, summoning captured souls to assist him in battle. The curtain rises on his wicked schemes in
2XKO on June 10, adding layers of strategy and excitement to the game.
Both champions are available for immediate purchase at
1,000 KO points or
1 Champion Token. Alternatively, they can be unlocked for free through a four-week shared
Champion Acquisition Event. After four weeks, the retail price for both champions will be
10,000 Credits. With both characters being unlocked simultaneously, players will spend approximately
50% more time than usual compared to standard acquisition events. Notably, all champions are accessible in training and offline modes, allowing players to test these new characters before making a purchase.
New PvE Mode: The Climb
Alongside the new champions, Riot Games introduces
The Climb, a
PvE mode where players can challenge themselves and friends against randomly spawned CPU characters. By defeating these foes, players can earn augmentations that alter their gameplay style, ranging from powerful enhancements to quirky modifications. Players can customize their champion builds based on the augmentations they unlock.
Successful completion of
The Climb missions will reward players with exclusive prizes, including
basic chromas,
avatar items, and
stickers. This mode aims to enhance the gaming experience by providing additional layers of fun and engagement.
