NAKED meets Nijo Castle 2025: Enjoying Japanese Summer Nights

NAKED, INC., a creative company based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has announced the upcoming summer art event, 'NAKED meets Nijo Castle 2025: Evening Coolness', which will take place from July 25 to August 24, 2025, at the World Heritage Site of Nijo Castle in Kyoto. With this year's festivities, a selection of delicious dining options has been unveiled in collaboration with Oyatsu Company, based in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture.

New Evening Coolness Area

This year introduces the 'Kawato no NIWA' area, a charming spot to relish summer treats like shaved ice and gyoza. Guests can immerse themselves in the nostalgic atmosphere created by interactive artworks inspired by Kyoto's summer scenery, including traditional riverside dining spots (kawadoko) and designs featuring evening faces (yugao) and bamboo boats (sasabune). The booths, managed in collaboration with NIWA, will showcase a variety of Kyoto-delicacies, such as matcha shaved ice and snacks like Kyoto duck ham and yuba rice crackers. A perfect opportunity to unwind and indulge in summer’s essence with a refreshing art experience awaits.

Exciting Collaboration with Oyatsu Company

In the festival's traditional fairground area, visitors will enjoy the delightful collaboration with Oyatsu Company featuring a shooting game (cost: 300 yen per round) where participants can win prizes, including mini Baby Star Ramen (chicken flavor) among other snacks from Oyatsu Company. This engaging activity promises fun for both children and adults, enhancing the summer festival feel.

Special Commemorative Ticket for Tanabata

Returning this year is the popular limited special entry ticket in connection with 'Kyoto's Tanabata 2025', a summer highlight of Kyoto. This commemorative ticket, adorned with a refreshing design, will be available exclusively at Nijo Castle's shop during the event.
