CeraVe's Global Initiatives for Skin Health
In recognition of World Skin Health Day, CeraVe has partnered with distinguished global health leaders, aiming to support individuals in underserved communities who lack access to essential dermatological services. This global initiative has been launched to combat a pressing healthcare crisis affecting billions worldwide, as highlighted on October 28, 2025.
Raising Awareness and Access
World Skin Health Day, celebrated annually on July 8, serves as a reminder of the importance of skin health. Established through the collaboration of the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and the International Society of Dermatology (ISD), this initiative strives to educate the public about skin diseases and advocate for improved healthcare access.
As an official business partner of World Skin Health Day for the second consecutive year, CeraVe's efforts this summer reached over 3,900 patients globally. They partnered with ILDS and ISD to deploy initiatives across nine countries, promoting enhanced awareness about the global skin health crisis—which leaves one-third of the world population suffering from skin diseases with limited access to dermatologists.
Addressing Significant Health Disparities
According to research, in some regions, there are fewer than one dermatologist for every million residents, which translates to a staggering 3 billion people lacking access to dermatological care. CeraVe’s commitment to bridging this healthcare gap has resulted in various initiatives this year. Evidence of success includes participation from organizations across 76 countries that brought numerous uplifting stories to social media, ultimately reaching over 4.5 million individuals.
Celebrating 20 years of skincare expertise, CeraVe also held a global event on World Skin Health Day, bringing together leading dermatologists and stakeholders to discuss advancements and the brand's commitment to improving global skin health.
Key Achievements This Year:
- - Collaboration with nine countries across five continents;
- - Treatment provided to over 3,900 patients in underserved areas;
- - Reaching over 4.5 million individuals through online and in-person initiatives;
- - Secured support from more than 200 governmental officials for skin health initiatives.
Mobilizing Support in Various Regions
Significant activities took place in 11 countries, highlighting the global outreach:
- - Indonesia: Provided care for over 220 patients, with the support of local officials;
- - Nigeria: Over 1,200 patients accessed dermatological services for the first time;
- - Bangladesh: Mobile dermatology units reached remote flood-prone areas, diagnosing and treating over 1,000 patients;
- - Philippines: Nearly 50 dermatologists served 163 patients in a remote community and trained another 136 healthcare personnel.
In the United States, CeraVe teamed up with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) to ensure that those in low-income communities have access to dermatological care. Dermatologists volunteered at NAFC clinics throughout the country, while L'Oreal skin health advisors led educational sessions about skin care.
Long-Term Commitment to Skin Health
CeraVe's partnership with NAFC has made significant strides in improving access to healthcare, inspiring volunteers to engage in long-term initiatives. Ariana Gordillo, Senior Director at NAFC, emphasized the invaluable support provided by this partnership, allowing clinics to expand their offerings and meaningfully assist patients across the country.
Professor Henry W. Lim of ILDS remarked on the impact of skin diseases on millions of families and the urgent need to improve access to dermatological care, underscoring CeraVe’s initiatives as critical actions in addressing the skin health crisis.
CeraVe Care For All: Philanthropic Efforts
All these initiatives align with CeraVe’s philanthropic program, Care For All, which seeks to alleviate disparities in dermatological care by enhancing support for frontline healthcare workers to assist countless patients in need. Tom Allison, Senior Vice President of Medical Dermatology at L'Oreal, shared that collaborating with dedicated organizations and leaders showcases a shared commitment to increasing access to dermatology services, emphasizing that everyone should have the right to skin health.
