Neurolief Expands Accessible Healthcare for Veterans

In a groundbreaking move to improve mental health care for U.S. veterans, Neurolief has established a new contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that will enable more veterans to access innovative prescription neuromodulation therapies. This initiative introduces two state-of-the-art treatments: Proliv®Rx for major depressive disorder (MDD) and Relivion®MG for migraines.

Access to Proliv®Rx and Relivion®MG

Neurolief's Proliv®Rx therapy is particularly notable as it is the first FDA-approved prescription device designed for in-home use by adults suffering from MDD who have not found relief through traditional antidepressant medications. This demographic, often categorized as experiencing treatment-resistant depression, constitutes a significant portion of the overall MDD patient base. With approximately 30% of individuals with major depressive disorder facing challenges with conventional treatments, the introduction of Proliv®Rx provides renewed hope.

According to clinical studies, a striking 46% of individuals reported being pain-free within two hours of treatment, compared to only 11.8% for control subjects.

A Proven Track Record

Both therapies have demonstrated efficacy through rigorous clinical trials. Proliv®Rx's effectiveness was evaluated in a comprehensive study involving 124 participants, showcasing notable remission rates and significant improvements in patients’ conditions. The pivotal MOOD study indicated a substantial difference in remission and improvement rates between active therapy and placebo, underscoring the potential of this home-based treatment.

On the other hand, the Relivion®MG therapy was validated in the RIME study, which further confirmed its prowess in providing relief from migraine symptoms. Both therapies not only hold the promise of enhanced patient outcomes but also signify a shift in healthcare delivery for veterans, especially for those in remote or underserved regions who may struggle to attend frequent in-clinic visits.
