HiTHIUM Unveils Innovative 8-Hour LDES Solution and New Products at SNEC 2026

HiTHIUM Unveils 8-Hour Long-Duration Energy Storage Solution and a Range of New Products at SNEC 2026

On June 3, 2026, HiTHIUM, a prominent global provider of energy storage solutions and services, made a significant mark at the SNEC 2026 exhibition in Shanghai by presenting its world-first 8-Hour Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) solution, named the ∞Power 6.9MWh BESS (Battery Energy Storage System). Alongside this groundbreaking introduction, the company launched its new large-capacity battery, the ∞Cell 650Ah, along with the innovative ∞Power 10+MWh solution.

The Necessity of Enhanced Energy Storage Duration

As the world moves toward increased renewable energy projects, the necessity of extending energy storage durations beyond traditional 2-to-3-hour capabilities has arisen. LDES is becoming increasingly crucial for renewable energy integration and for ensuring the reliability and stability of power systems. This shift towards longer energy storage durations signifies a vital step in advancing grid flexibility and resilience.

To fulfill the growing demand for LDES that balances cost efficiency, safety, reliability, and scale, HiTHIUM has developed an integrated technology system that includes specialized battery cells and complete BESS solutions. Leveraging its strengths in cost leadership, service excellence, and safety, HiTHIUM aims to redefine industry standards for long-duration energy storage.

Key Features of the ∞Power 6.9MWh BESS

During the SNEC exhibition, HiTHIUM's team led discussions on the latest trends in LDES and product innovations. In a keynote address entitled "Long-Duration Powering, Green Energy Enduring," Kay Ye, HiTHIUM's Product Director, emphasized the vital role of LDES infrastructure in enhancing grid safety amid the increasing share of renewable energies, extreme weather events, and rising pressures on grid stability. The ∞Power 6.9MWh system is powered by the world’s first 1300Ah battery cell specifically designed for LDES applications, achieving a capacity of over 6.9 MWh and a stable 8-hour output within a standard 20-foot container.

With a lifespan of up to 25 years, these systems can be efficiently stacked both side-by-side and back-to-back, optimizing space and reducing overall construction costs. Moreover, the environmentally-friendly innovations incorporated into the system include low-greenhouse-potential refrigerants, leak-proof designs, and recyclable components, contributing to a sustainable operational approach.

To ensure safety, HiTHIUM has implemented a robust multilayered protection architecture, encompassing intrinsic cell safety, both active and passive protection at the battery container level, and intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) oversight.

Introduction of the ∞Cell 650Ah

Another highlight was the launch of the ∞Cell 650Ah large-capacity battery, alongside the ∞Power 10+MWh solution. This product reflects HiTHIUM's continuous efforts to enhance its product offerings based on robust research and development capabilities in battery cell technology and energy storage systems (ESS). The new products not only enrich HiTHIUM’s portfolio of large batteries and systems but also improve project profitability through increased energy density and enhanced system integration efficiency, while providing more options for varied applications and bolstering global competitiveness.

Additionally, HiTHIUM unveiled an extensive portfolio of battery cells including ∞Cell 1300Ah, 1175Ah, and 587Ah, along with systems like the ∞Power 6.25MWh 2-4h BESS, the ∞Cell N162Ah, ∞Power N2.28MWh 1h sodium-ion BESS, and energy storage cabinets of ∞Block 261kWh and 418kWh for commercial and industrial use, as well as residential energy storage products such as HeroEE MaxPower 8 AIO and HeroEE16.

Strategic Collaboration to Boost Presence in Southeast Asia

During the exhibition, HiTHIUM and DSS Solar signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement for a 1GWh project targeting Vietnam's energy storage market. This partnership combines HiTHIUM's strengths in product solutions, advanced manufacturing, and supply chain management with DSS Solar's established local distribution channels and project development services, supporting the regional energy transition and green development.

Building upon a dual technology roadmap for both lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, HiTHIUM has established a comprehensive product matrix for applications ranging from 1 to 8 hours. Moving forward, the company is focused on LDES as a strategic priority, proactively pushing innovation and global expansion to accelerate large-scale deployment and facilitate the global transition to green energy.
