Major Contract Secured by Target Hospitality
In a significant development, Target Hospitality Corp. has announced a multi-year contract worth over $550 million with a top five hyperscaler to facilitate the establishment of a data center campus in North Texas. This successful agreement underscores the company’s robust position in the modular accommodation and hospitality service market.
Overview of the Contract
The contract is officially labeled the Data Center Hub Contract and entails comprehensive facility and hospitality services tailored specifically for the data center, expected to accommodate around 4,000 individuals. Work on the scheduled campus will commence imminently, with anticipated first occupancy in the third quarter of 2026 and full completion expected by the second quarter of 2027.
Target Hospitality plans to deliver a full turnkey solution for the data center community, illustrating their commitment to providing highly customized services. This project is part of Target's strategic growth initiatives, aiming to capitalize on the surge in demand for data center infrastructure across the technology sector.
Financial Implications
The contract guarantees a substantial minimum revenue over an initial term of five years, extending to January 2031. Moreover, it includes options for two additional two-year extensions, ensuring continuity of service through January 2035. Beyond the committed revenue, Target projects a variable annual revenue of approximately $20 million to $40 million, contingent upon customer occupancy levels.
To support the construction and services promised in this contract, Target Hospitality is expected to invest between $115 million to $125 million, relying significantly on existing assets while also sourcing new ones tailored to meet the customer's requirements. Notably, around 80% of this investment is forecasted to occur within the year 2026.
Strategic Growth and Future Outlook
Brad Archer, the CEO of Target Hospitality, stated, "This contract enhances our Hyper/Scale platform capability, demonstrating our ability to deliver customized solutions at a large scale. As we engage in capital investments in AI infrastructure and related sectors, our growth pipeline continues to strengthen."
With the new contract, Target Hospitality is enhancing its revenue visibility and cash flow. The company projects total revenue for the year 2026 to range between $360 million and $370 million, with an adjusted EBITDA between $70 million and $80 million, reflecting significant growth opportunities within their Workforce Hospitality Solutions segment.
