Launch of 'Wonder Encyclopedia LINK' Series with Body Atlas Debut

Introduction of a New Educational Series

World Cultural Publishing has officially launched its new series, Wonder Encyclopedia LINK, designed to provide essential learning for today’s children. The first release, titled Why and How Body Atlas, will hit the shelves on July 10. This engaging encyclopedia aims to connect learning with future actions, showcasing how curiosity leads to understanding our bodies.

Features of the Body Atlas

This first installment addresses common questions children often have, such as, "What is inside our body?", "Why do we have a belly button?", and "What happens when we catch a cold?" Each of these queries guides children through the fascinating mechanisms of the human body through relatable illustrations. Supervised by renowned zoologist Tadaaki Imaizumi, the book encourages children to compare their anatomy with various animals, enriching their understanding of human characteristics.

Learning Through Fun Interactivity

Why and How Body Atlas is not just a manual; it’s an interactive experience. Packed with charts, anecdotes, and quizzes, the book makes learning about the body enjoyable for both children and their parents. This edition is adapted from the popular monthly picture book series, Wonderland, and has been expanded to cater to children aged four to lower elementary grades. Additionally, the book includes furigana (reading aids) for kanji up to second grade, making it perfect for young independent readers.

Educating About Private Parts

An innovative addition to the book is the section titled “What are Private Parts?” supervised by midwife Mayumi Tsuchiya. This page aims to educate children about their bodies, including the various functions of their anatomy, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for themselves.

Profile of the Supervisor

Tadaaki Imaizumi, born in 1944 in Tokyo, is a prominent zoologist who graduated from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (formerly Tokyo Fisheries University). His impressive career includes roles as a curator at Ueno Zoo, director of the Cat Museum, and head of the Japan Animal Science Institute. Imaizumi has authored and supervised numerous educational books, including The Disappointing Animal Encyclopedia and Come Visit the Sea Otter Marsh.
