Musashi University Hosts Its Autumn Light-Up Event on November 19, 2026

Celebrate the Autumn Light-Up at Musashi University

On November 19, 2026, Musashi University, located in Nerima, Tokyo, will host its much-anticipated Autumn Light-Up Event. Designed primarily for community engagement, this event promises to be a celebration of lights and learning, building on the success of its inaugural year. We aim to welcome even more attendees this time around with an expanded lineup of activities that cater to diverse interests.

A Night to Remember

The event will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with the last admission at 8:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to use public transport as the campus and its surroundings will be lit up beautifully from sunset until 8:30 PM. Key lit areas include the main gate, the auditorium, the zelkova tree-lined path, and the student cafeteria, creating a magical atmosphere.

Movie Screening: "Yume de Aetara"

One of the highlights of the evening is the free screening of the film "Yume de Aetara," which will take place in Classroom 1002 of Building 1. There will be two screenings, one at 5:30 PM and another at 7:00 PM, each lasting approximately one hour. Directed and written by Yosuke Nakagawa, who is an alumnus of the University's Faculty of Economics, the film features an impressive cast including Makita Sports, Rika Nakagawa, and alumni Hakuzan Kanda and Renka Ishiyama.

Special Lecture: "Japanese History from a Regional Perspective"

Enhancing the academic dimension of the event, Professor Kazuto Hongo, a distinguished educator from Musashi University's Center for Liberal Arts and Sciences, will deliver a special lecture titled "Japanese History from a Regional Perspective: Kinai and the Nation." This session is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the auditorium. Although admission is free, prior registration is required. Interested attendees can sign up through the provided link.

Exclusive Dining Experience at Musashi Dining

Food enthusiasts will have the chance to experience a special opening of the student cafeteria, Musashi Dining, which was recently renovated in September. Limited to the first 700 guests, the cafeteria will serve a unique menu designed specifically for the event. It will open its doors at 5:00 PM, with last orders taken at 8:00 PM and closing at 8:30 PM. Please note that payment will only be accepted through cashless methods such as credit cards and electronic money, including PHPay and auPay, ensuring a smooth transaction.

YouTube Channel Recording: "Doctor and Performer"

In addition to the film and lectures, a live recording session for the popular YouTube channel "Doctor and Performer" will take place at Room 1101 of Building 1, starting at 6:00 PM. Participants will include Ryo Yamaguchi and Yoshiki Koeyama, along with Professor Hasaru Kobayashi from the International Liberal Arts Department of Musashi University. The ending time for this session is yet to be determined.
