Lynne Munson Joins Learning Ally's Board to Enhance Educational Equity
Learning Ally Welcomes Lynne Munson
Learning Ally, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of students facing reading difficulties, such as those with dyslexia, has announced the prominent appointment of Lynne Munson to its Board of Directors. Munson, who is the founder and former CEO of Great Minds®, brings a wealth of experience in K–12 education and curriculum development to the team.
Munson's inclusion in the board is seen as a strategic move to further advance Learning Ally's mission. In her new role, she emphasized the critical nature of accessible education: “Learning Ally addresses a significant challenge facing both teachers and learners: accessibility.” She believes that students, regardless of their reading struggles, should have the same access to texts as their peers.
Founded in 2007, Great Minds has made considerable strides in providing high-quality educational materials. Under Munson's leadership, the organization became a pioneer in developing curricula aligned with Common Core State Standards. Notably, the curricula for English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics were made freely available, allowing for widespread impact across classrooms nationwide.
