On December 13, 2025, the city of Sanda in Hyogo Prefecture will host a groundbreaking matchmaking event called "Metaverse Matching in Sanda," organized in partnership with Mitsu-VA, an innovative metaverse dating service provided by Persol Innovation Co., Ltd. This exciting initiative, part of the 2025 Sanda Encounter Support Project, aims to create new opportunities for love during the festive Christmas season.

Event Overview

The event takes place in a virtual space, where participants will create their own avatars to interact in a safe, online environment. Prior to the event, attendees will complete a "Partnership Assessment" which allows them to visualize their personality traits and views on relationships. During the event, there will be 1-to-1 conversations with potential partners and opportunities for self-promotion to the entire group, followed by responses on matching sheets.

Couples who achieve a match will have the chance to go on a virtual date within the metaverse, and if both parties agree, they can progress to a real-life date afterwards. This event is designed not only to facilitate connections but also to support attendees in building meaningful relationships.

The Purpose of the Event

A representative from Sanda City stated that this project is an essential part of their commitment to providing diverse opportunities for young people to connect. Previous initiatives included a cooking class and a skills seminar, but the introduction of the metaverse platform represents a significant leap into new technology to create a secure venue for interactions.

Sanda City aims to cater to the varying social needs of its residents and supports relationships from the initial meeting to dating and marriage, all while pursuing the ideal lifestyle each individual envisions in Sanda.

Event Details

- Event Title: Love Avatars, Real Hearts - Metaverse Matching in Sanda
- Target Audience: Singles aged 20-40 who are either residents of Sanda or wish to live in Sanda.
- Participants: Up to 24 participants (12 males and 12 females). Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis with a lottery if demand exceeds available spots.
- Participation Fee: 2,000 yen (tax included), which covers the Partnership Assessment tool.
