Introducing the Inaugural Regular Season of PicTrée
The highly anticipated community-driven social contribution game,
PicTrée, is set to launch its first ever
regular season on
June 6, 2026. Developed by
Digital Entertainment Asset (DEA) in collaboration with
Growth Ring Grid Pte. Ltd. (GRG), this initiative marks a significant expansion, transforming how participants can engage in social contributions through gaming.
PicTrée, which celebrates its
second anniversary in 2026, has historically operated limited seasons focused primarily in Eastern Japan. However, with increasing partnerships and user demand, the decision for a wider, permanent season has been made. This exciting new chapter will allow players to enjoy the game beyond the previously defined regional limits.
Collaboration and Expansion
The regular season will kick off in collaboration with
NTT-ME, a leader in telecommunications infrastructure, focusing initially on the
Eastern Japan area. This partnership is pivotal as it aims to utilize NTT-ME’s extensive telecommunications network to enhance the game's infrastructure. The plan is to gradually incorporate various infrastructures such as utility poles, manholes, streetlights, road signs, bridges, and water facilities, allowing players to participate in documenting and photographing these assets.
In prior initiatives, DEA, GRG, and NTT-ME have tested effective maintenance methods for communication infrastructure, and this new season will leverage experiences gathered over their ongoing collaboration since
November 2024. Participants can look forward to an expansive array of approximately
800,000 assets to photograph, with potential growth in the program’s scope over time.
Game Dynamics
The PicTrée game offers players a chance to form teams as they compete to capture images of close-to-home telecommunication assets: utility poles, manholes, and more. During the regular season, players can choose between three teams —
Bolt, Ampere, and Watt — and engage in a competitive environment to collect points via actions such as 'check-ins' and 'photographic captures.' Points will further accumulate through 'connect' actions, linking captured assets together.
Notably, participants will have the opportunity to earn increased rewards during special events, which will take place at various points throughout the season. The detailed information regarding these times and special events will be disclosed before the season's commencement on the official PicTrée website.
