The Maze Event: Uniting Runners Across Asia in Seoul 2025



On September 27, 2025, the East Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, South Korea, was the vibrant venue for "The Maze Event," an exciting running competition aimed at bringing together a diverse array of runners from across the Asia-Pacific region. With participation from 20 teams—13 from South Korea and 7 invited teams from various countries including China, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong—this event marked a significant step towards enhancing Saucony's brand presence in APAC.

The theme of The Maze Event centered on connecting people through the love of running, which is a fundamental belief held by Saucony. Participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of Korea while fostering a sense of community. Through a variety of programs, the event illustrated Saucony's commitment to engage with local communities and create an environment where runners from diverse backgrounds could come together and celebrate their passion for the sport.

The competitive aspect was notably thrilling. Teams showcased their spirited performance wearing Saucony's latest model, the Endorphin Speed 5. The challenge consisted of a relay race held in multiple rounds around a 500-meter course outside the DDP, demonstrating teamwork and athleticism. After a series of intense races, the championship was claimed by the Saucony Australia team, earning them an invitation to participate in the prestigious "Saucony Eiffel Tower 10K" in Paris set for December 2025.

In addition to the competitive events, the invited teams from APAC participated in a shakeout run with local runners, traversing scenic routes that allowed for deeper interaction and a richer understanding of Korean culture. This not only enhanced cross-cultural connections but also reinforced the camaraderie among runners from different backgrounds.

The gathering of such a diverse array of runners at this event explicitly showcased Saucony's respect for the running cultures across the APAC region and their commitment to nurturing community bonds. As Saucony continues to bolster its presence in the APAC market, it plans to engage in similar initiatives that solidify relationships and improve engagement with local communities.
