Starting from July 15, 2026, Tamiya's flagship facility located in Shimbashi, Tokyo, will host a special summer event titled "Dino World by Mitsuhiro Kurokawa." This extraordinary exhibition will run until September 13, 2026, inviting families to dive into the vibrant world of dinosaurs through the eyes of the celebrated children’s book author and illustrator, Mitsuhiro Kurokawa.

Exhibition Highlights

As part of this event, attendees can explore an exclusive exhibition featuring around 11 original artworks from Kurokawa's popular dinosaur book series, including Dinosaur Adventure. His intricate illustrations and vivid colors bring to life the majestic world of dinosaurs, making it an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

Special Workshops

In addition to the art exhibition, visitors will have the unique opportunity to participate in special hands-on workshops led by Kurokawa himself. Families can join in fun-filled sessions that blend the joys of viewing the magnificent illustrations with the creative experience of model-building.

During these workshops, participants will utilize three newly released dinosaur model kits from Tamiya, which will be available starting July 2026. Under Kurokawa's guidance, attendees will learn about traditional crafting techniques while creating their very own dinosaur models. This interactive experience emphasizes both the joy of creation and the wonders of the prehistoric world.

- Eligibility: Suitable for students in the second grade and above, accompanied by a guardian
- Location: Tamiya PLAMODEL FACTORY TOKYO, event space "Modelers Square"
- Capacity: 10 groups per day (Registration required; ends once full)

Related Events

In addition, Tamiya will host a separate event entitled "Create a Walking Dinosaur Workshop for Parents and Children" on July 18, August 8, and August 9, 2026. This session, moderated by Tamiya staff, will provide families the chance to assemble exciting walking dinosaur models together. Note that Kurokawa will not participate in this specific event.
