National Park Experience Pavilion at TFOB 2026

The upcoming Tucson Festival of Books (TFOB) is set to be an unforgettable event, bringing together literary enthusiasts and outdoor lovers alike at the University of Arizona on March 14 and 15, 2026. This year, the Western National Parks (WNP) will proudly host the National Park Experience Pavilion, designed to connect visitors with the rich heritage and natural beauty of America's national parks.

TFOB is recognized as one of the largest book festivals in the United States, attracting thousands of attendees each year. This free, family-friendly event will feature an astonishing array of authors, literacy advocates, and community organizations, all celebrating the joy of literature. The National Park Experience Pavilion aims to immerse attendees in the captivating realms of history, culture, and science tied to our national parks.

Pavilion Highlights

The Pavilion will host numerous activities that promise to engage participants of all ages. Notably, there will be sections dedicated to educational programs, showcasing the importance of conservation, outdoor adventure, and the stories behind our beloved national parks. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of booths offering interactive exhibits and presentations.

Among the many highlights will be guest appearances by acclaimed authors such as Craig Childs and Bridget Crocker, who will lead panel discussions on various topics relevant to both literature and the natural world. Moderators like Kevin Fedarko, celebrated for his contributions to outdoor literature, will spearhead engaging dialogues that inspire attendees to explore the beauty of the great outdoors.

Additionally, attendees can visit the Hubbell Trading Post Tent, where they can purchase handmade Navajo rugs and jewelry, as well as learn about their cultural significance from local artisans. The National Parks Store Tent will also be present, featuring a unique selection of apparel, toys, and books, with all proceeds supporting over 70 national park sites across the USA.

Fun for Children and Families

A major focus of the Pavilion will be family-friendly activities designed to educate and inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. The annual Junior Ranger Jamboree will facilitate hands-on educational opportunities with free giveaways, where kids can learn about science, history, and storytelling, fostering a love for nature and exploration.

The Pavilion will also be home to booths run by WNP's partner parks and community organizations, ensuring that every visitor walks away with something special from their experience.
