A Unique Journey of Taste: Japan Meets Poland
On June 5, 2026, the Aubergetokito in Tachikawa, Tokyo, will host a remarkable international collaboration dinner celebrating the rich cultural ties between Japan and Poland through the medium of food. This event aims to showcase how, despite differences in language and nationality, human sensibility resonates across cultures. The essence of this collaboration lies in connecting culinary aesthetics to the future, amplifying cultural values from Tachikawa to the world.
Background of the Event
The inception of this culinary collaboration stems from a film titled
Toki to - The Innovative Chefs, A 540-Day Chronicle, which features Aubergetokito and was selected for this year's Warsaw Film Festival. This project highlights a partnership with Daniel Pawelek, who is renowned in Poland's culinary scene as the head of Ferment Group, which owns a collection of top-rated fine dining establishments and wine shops in Warsaw. The highlight of the evening will be guest chef Bartosz Szymczak, head chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Rozbrat20, delivering a one-night-only dining experience that fuses the cultural and aesthetic sensibilities of both Japan and Poland.
Chef Szymczak is celebrated for his culinary techniques that blend European finesse with delicate taste profiles. He will work collaboratively with Aubergetokito's dedicated staff to craft a unique multi-course Japanese dinner that reflects the combined beauty of both nations. This experience transcends mere dining; it encompasses tableware, aroma, ambience, and the moment itself, inviting guests to savor each “toki” or moment.
