Wood Partners Set to Launch 372-Unit Multifamily Community in North Charlotte

Wood Partners to Launch Village Park in North Charlotte

In a significant development for North Charlotte, Wood Partners, one of the leading multifamily developers in the United States, is set to break ground on its latest project, Village Park. This ambitious initiative will introduce 372 residential units to the Highland Creek and Prosperity Church area, marking the company's return to a neighborhood where it has previously invested. The groundbreaking is scheduled for November, with plans to open the community by May 2028.

Located strategically at the intersection of Prosperity Church and Benfield Roads, Village Park will sit adjacent to Wood Partners' earlier development, Prosperity Village. This prime location offers residents convenient access to Interstate 485, thus ensuring easy connectivity to both Uptown Charlotte and nearby Huntersville. Notably, a Publix grocery store is positioned next to the site, further enhancing the community’s appeal for families and individuals alike.

Carter Siegel, the Regional Director of Development at Wood Partners, expressed enthusiasm about the project. "We know this part of Charlotte well, and building next to Prosperity Village allows us to keep investing in the neighborhood. Residents will enjoy the benefit of I-485 right at their doorstep, along with a grocery store just a short walk away and a large park on site. We’re proud to contribute to the growth of this vibrant Charlotte community," he stated.

Community Features

Village Park is designed to be a modern hub for residents, incorporating a well-thought-out mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, with a distinct offering of six two-bedroom, two-bathroom carriage-house units. Reflecting the commitment to inclusivity and community service, Wood Partners will allocate five percent of these homes for affordable housing for households earning up to 80% of the area’s median income.

Residents will have access to a variety of amenities within the community. The clubhouse, a central feature, will include a fitness center, coworking spaces, private offices, a coffee bar, and a clubroom. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy amenities such as a resort-style pool equipped with cabanas, a dog park with a spa, a fire pit, and various grilling areas, all designed to foster a sense of community and relaxation.

Open spaces are integral to the Village Park design. The development will include a large park featuring a gazebo and seating areas that will serve as a community gathering spot. A landscaped green space, a pond overlook, and new sidewalks will ensure smooth access for residents, encouraging them to connect with the surrounding neighborhood. Wood Partners is actively working alongside Mecklenburg County and the Charlotte Department of Transportation to enhance the site’s infrastructure.

A Commitment to Charlotte

Village Park will be Wood Partners' third community investment in the Prosperity Church area, adding to its portfolio which already includes Alta Prosperity Village and the recently opened Alta Croft, which houses 238 units. Wood Partners has consistently demonstrated a commitment to developing quality multifamily communities, with over 22 successful developments in the Charlotte region, including notable projects like the 302-unit Alta 10th and Seigle in Plaza Midwood and the 252-unit Altera Mint Hill in east Charlotte.

With a track record of involvement in developing over 115,000 multifamily homes worth approximately $24 billion, Wood Partners continues to hold a robust position in the real estate market. The company is headquartered in Atlanta and operates across 17 major markets nationwide, making it one of the five largest multifamily developers in the United States.
