Isshin Tanisaki's Upcoming Exhibition 'FEEL'
LURF GALLERY is set to unveil a solo showcase titled 'FEEL' by the acclaimed artist Isshin Tanisaki, starting from November 7 to December 7, 2025. Known for intricately exploring the themes of existence and consciousness through his abstract paintings, Tanisaki's work revolves around the motif of vortexes, which serve as a conduit for depicting the energy and cycles of life.
Tanisaki’s artistic journey began with landscape painting, and he has seamlessly transitioned into abstract art by intertwining these two forms. In 'FEEL', we witness this unique fusion of landscapes and vortexes, creating a novel surreal world that oscillates between abstraction and representation. The paintings encapsulate a dance of colors and shapes, manifesting the diverse experiences of our reality. Yet, at the core of these vortexes lies an essence devoid of meaning or intention—existing simply as they are. This paradox invites viewers to reflect on how, while the world itself carries no intrinsic meaning, it is our consciousness that assigns value and significance to our experiences.
Through his immersive works, Tanisaki poses profound questions about our relationship with existence and consciousness. His paintings resonate with the idea that the essence of things transcends meaning; rather, it is the artists and observers who infuse their interpretations and emotional responses onto the canvas. The persistent inquiry into the relationship between being and perception is a theme Tanisaki skillfully explores through patterns of vortexes and waveforms.
The exhibition will be inaugurated with an opening reception on November 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where attendees can meet the artist. The event is free of charge and does not require prior reservation.
