Alameda Housing Authority Opens Housing Wait List

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is set to open its wait list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) and select Project-Based Voucher (PBV) programs. This application period is scheduled from December 3, 2024, at 12:00 PM (PST) to December 16, 2024, at 12:00 PM (PST). Application Process

To facilitate the application process for all interested parties, AHA has made the entire housing wait list application available online. Accessible at AHA's website, the application will be provided in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. This inclusive approach ensures that community members who are least likely to apply can also benefit from this opportunity.

In addition to online applications, AHA staff will be present at several locations to assist applicants during the applying period. The designated centers include:
  • - Alameda Boys and Girls Club (1900 Third Street)
  • - Alameda Free Library (1550 Oak Street)
  • - College of Alameda (Room A200, Ralph Appezzato Way)
  • - Alameda Point Collaborative (2550 Monarch Street)
  • - Independence Plaza (703 Atlantic Avenue)
  • - Mastick Senior Center (1155 Santa Clara Avenue)

AHA's Mission

For over 80 years, the Housing Authority has dedicated itself to providing quality housing assistance to low-income households. AHA’s overarching goal is to ensure that all families have access to affordable and safe housing solutions. Programs offered by the AHA include Housing Choice Vouchers, Project-Based Vouchers, family self-sufficiency programs, and resident services amongst other initiatives.

The community is encouraged to take advantage of this limited application window, and for any inquiries regarding the housing wait list, interested individuals can visit AHA's Applicant page or contact the AHA directly. This is an excellent opportunity for those in need to seek assistance in finding a safe home for their families.

With this initiative, Alameda continues to build a community where everyone has the opportunity for secure housing, reflecting AHA's commitment to the vitality of its residents.
