TSA Records Over 10.4 Million Passenger Screenings on Labor Day Weekend
In a remarkable showing of resilience and growth in the travel industry, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screened nearly 10.4 million travelers over the Labor Day weekend, from Friday through Monday. This marks a 3.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, August 29th was one of the busiest days in the TSA's history, with the agency screening 2,971,217 passengers—the highest volume ever recorded for the Friday before Labor Day.
This data highlights the upward trend in air travel, especially in recent months, as TSA reports that eight out of the top ten busiest travel days have occurred since May 23. Such numbers indicate that the agency is poised to achieve an all-time annual passenger volume record this year. TSA Acting Deputy Administrator Adam Stahl remarked on the agency’s preparedness to meet the rising demands of air travel while maintaining robust security measures and enhancing passenger experience.
