From October 7 to 11, 2026, the sixth iteration of the NBA Cares x Sands Cares Community Impact Week unfolded in Macao, coinciding with the NBA China Games 2026. This five-day event, co-organized by Sands China and NBA Cares, culminated in a vibrant Community Basketball Carnival at NBA HOUSE located at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo. The finale was a celebration of basketball's potential to foster community and inclusion, showcasing the commitment of both organizations to social responsibility.

A Grand Finale: Community Basketball Carnival

The main event gathered around 200 enthusiastic participants, including well-known sports icons such as NBA legend Chris Bosh and global ambassador Sir David Beckham. The carnival offered diverse basketball-themed family activities designed to engage the local community and promote sportsmanship. Children and families from local social service organizations had the chance to connect with community leaders and take part in various fun-filled, interactive experiences.

One of the highlights of the carnival was a basketball clinic led by an NBA coach. This session focused on honing basketball skills for participants, especially members from the Macau Special Olympics (MSO). The coach provided valuable guidance through demonstrations and personalized instruction, encouraging individuals to challenge themselves and build confidence while emphasizing the importance of inclusivity.

Celebrity Engagement and Community Spirit

The infectious atmosphere of the carnival was further amplified by the spirited involvement of acclaimed athletes. During the event, Chris Bosh engaged warmly with MSO members, promoting a feeling of camaraderie among participants. Both Zhang Ziyu, a member of the China women's basketball national team, and Wang Meng, an Olympic gold medalist in short track speed skating, also contributed to creating an uplifting environment by interacting with local sports enthusiasts and community members.

Returning to the Impact Week, Sir David Beckham enthusiastically joined families from Macao's various social organizations, believing firmly in the unifying spirit of sports.
