Exploring the Future of Sustainability: The 2025 REMADE Circular Economy Tech Summit



The REMADE Institute is excited to announce that registration is now open for its eagerly anticipated 2025 REMADE Circular Economy Technology Summit and Conference, set for April 10-11, 2025, at the National Academy of Sciences Building in Washington, D.C. This year’s event, organized in partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is dedicated to showcasing innovations that can significantly accelerate the transition to a circular economy in the United States.

As a public-private partnership comprised of over 160 members, REMADE aims to pioneer solutions that address the pressing global challenges of resource scarcity, waste management, and ecological impacts. The summit promises to gather industry leaders, researchers, and experts to foster dialogue around sustainable practices and cutting-edge technologies. According to Nabil Nasr, CEO of REMADE, the conference serves as a critical platform for discussing multidimensional approaches to the circular economy, stimulating collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers.

Keynote Speakers and Discussions


This year's summit will feature prominent keynote speakers, including Maria Ligia Do Rosario Noronha, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Head of UNEP's New York Office, and Tim McAloone, a professor renowned for his expertise in sustainable design. Their insights, alongside discussions led by other thought leaders, will enrich the conversations about how advanced technologies can facilitate the shift towards sustainable resource use and economic resilience.

The event will host around 300 industry professionals and will include approximately 60 presentations of peer-reviewed research, emphasizing practical technologies capable of influencing the circular economy’s trajectory. Attendees will also engage in comprehensive discussions regarding systems analysis, industrial ecology, and the optimization of manufacturing materials.

Innovations and Technological Advancements


At the heart of the summit is the focus on innovations capable of recycling and remanufacturing resources critical to energy-intensive sectors. Presentations will explore the reuse of materials ranging from metals like steel and aluminum to plastics and electronic scraps. These technologies not only promise to enhance U.S. manufacturing competitiveness but also aim to create jobs, lower energy consumption, and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
