SINEXCEL and Wasion Energy Launch a Groundbreaking Energy Storage Project in Central America

Landmark Energy Storage Project in Central America

On July 10, 2025, Costa Rica made a remarkable leap in renewable energy efforts with the official launch of the Coopesantos wind energy storage system, a collaborative project between SINEXCEL and Wasion Energy. This occasion, attended by local officials, symbolizes a significant milestone in the partnership between China and Costa Rica, showcasing the innovative aspirations in the renewable energy sector.

Pioneering Energy Solutions

The Coopesantos project is not only the first of its kind in Central America but also integrates advanced energy storage technology. Utilizing a 1250 kW inverter from SINEXCEL, the system delivers outstanding performance thanks to its three core advantages:

1. Smart Control: The system boasts an efficiency exceeding 99%, designed to mitigate peak loads, manage frequency fluctuations, and provide voltage support. This intelligent management ensures that energy is utilized effectively while promoting grid stability.

2. Robust Safety Features: With an embedded Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) technology, the system offers secure 'black start' capabilities and can function in parallel mode without grid connection. This feature guarantees uninterrupted power supply even under extreme conditions, making it a reliable source of energy.

3. Environmental Adaptability: Developed with Wasion Energy, the system exhibits enhanced resistance to shocks and humidity, tailored specifically for the unique climate of Central America, which is characterized by high temperatures and frequent seismic activity.

During the technical seminar preceding the project's launch, representatives from Costa Rica's national energy authorities and industry experts acknowledged SINEXCEL's energy storage technology highly. This recognition validates its global competitiveness and innovative potential in the energy sector.

Strategic Importance for SINEXCEL

The successful deployment of the Coopesantos system marks a critical strategic milestone for SINEXCEL within the Central American market. This project not only strengthens SINEXCEL's foothold in the region but also plays a pivotal role in its global expansion strategy. As the demand for renewable energy solutions continues to escalate worldwide, SINEXCEL is committed to accelerating energy transformation and promoting energy independence throughout Latin America and beyond.
