Exciting Sports Wellness Fukiya Championships Set for November
On November 11 and 12, the Higashin Arena in Sumida City will host the much-anticipated
7th National Open Tournament and the
14th All-Japan Championship. Both events promise to showcase the skills of fukiya practitioners from across Japan, and the public is invited to spectate!
7th National Open Tournament on November 11
The
7th National Open Tournament will kick off on Tuesday, November 11. Here are the key details:
- - Registration Start Time: 11:00 AM
- - Opening Ceremony: 12:00 PM
- - Venue: Higashin Arena, Sumida General Sports Center, Tokyo
- - Eligibility: Participants must be members of the association.
Participants and Competition Classes
A total of
762 entrants from various prefectures including Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Osaka have registered in the following classes:
- - 10m Men's: 277 participants
- - 10m Women's: 141 participants
- - 8m Men's: 72 participants
- - 8m Women's: 73 participants
- - 6m Men's: 43 participants
- - 6m Women's: 53 participants
- - G8m Mixed: 82 participants
- - G6m Mixed: 21 participants
The competition will consist of class-based individual matches across
six rounds. Winning positions will be honored from first to eighth place in each class.

14th All-Japan Championship on November 12
The following day, November 12, will feature the
14th All-Japan Championship:
- - Registration Start Time: 9:00 AM
- - Opening Ceremony: 10:00 AM
- - Venue: Higashin Arena, Sumida General Sports Center, Tokyo
- - Eligibility: Participants must be members of the association and selected representatives from their blocks and prefectures.
Participants and Competition Format
With
527 entrants from 30 prefectures signing up, the following classes will be featured:
- - 10m Men's: 119 participants
- - 10m Women's: 96 participants
- - 8m Men's: 66 participants
- - 8m Women's: 72 participants
- - 6m Men's: 44 participants
- - 6m Women's: 54 participants
- - G8m Mixed: 54 participants
- - G6m Mixed: 22 participants
Participants will go through
six rounds of preliminary matches, with the top eight advancing to a knockout finals. Notably, G6m and G8m classes will not have eliminated rounds.

Established in 1998 in Japan,
Sports Wellness Fukiya combines archery and breath control, requiring participants to blow darts at targets set 5 to 10 meters away. By focusing on breathing techniques rooted in abdominal respiration, players develop concentration and mental fortitude.
