AM General Showcases Cutting-Edge Military Technology at AUSA 2026
AM General, a recognized leader in military mobility solutions, is set to unveil its advanced platforms during the Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) from October 12 to 14, 2026. The showcase will take place at Booth #1925 in Hall B at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where the company intends to demonstrate how its innovations are pivotal in enhancing Warfighter effectiveness.
Among the key features at the exhibit will be the redesigned HUMVEE platform. This next-generation vehicle has undergone significant enhancements both internally and externally, resulting in improved performance metrics and versatility for various combat scenarios. It is powered by a new Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) engine, delivering 250 horsepower—the heart of numerous upcoming light tactical platforms.
Additionally, AM General will display its fully autonomous Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV), which is integrated with advanced artificial intelligence features. This UGV incorporates the XTEDN NEST, a mobile launch system that facilitates forward operations without endangering personnel. By establishing a mobile launch point closer to mission-critical areas, Warfighters can maintain safer distances from potential threats.
The JLTV A2, another highlight of the AM General lineup, demonstrates significant advancements over its predecessor, the A1. The latest iteration features enhanced lethality and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities thanks to systems developed in partnership with Rafael Systems Global Sustainment (RSGS), LLC. Improvements in the JLTV A2 include a new robust powertrain, better corrosion control, and enhanced noise reduction within the vehicle cabin, making it a formidable option for tactical operations.
Notably, the JLTV A2 will exhibit the integration of the RSGS Samson 30mm Remote Weapon Station and the Iron Wasp, an autonomous vehicle-launched C-UAS aerial drone system. This combination is decisive in providing real-time responses to aerial threats, ensuring that both stationary and mobile operations can fend off potential drone incursions.
AM General's President and CEO, John Chadbourne, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming AUSA event, remarking, "We are excited to present our evolving capabilities to the U.S. Army—our longstanding customer. Now is an essential moment to showcase our adaptations to rapid battlefield changes, including our improved powertrain and advanced autonomous features for the HUMVEE and JLTV platforms. Such innovations serve as a robust foundation for all Warfighter missions."
A cornerstone of the exhibit will be the UGV, which will provide a hands-on display of the XTEND Nest, powered by XOS, a system utilizing physical AI to enhance unmanned capabilities. The UGV is designed for high-precision missions in challenging environments devoid of GPS signals, offering ISR and reconnaissance capabilities via immediate deployment. The Scorpio 1000 gesture-controlled system will allow operators to undertake complex tasks efficiently and safely.
