This upgrade comes in response to the needs of mechanical designers and will now allow for precise specifications regarding surface roughness (up to Ra 1.6) and dimensional tolerances (within ±0.1 mm). Additionally, the company is set to significantly reduce delivery times, enabling shipments as quick as six days.

The enhancement of heat treatment services is vital for ensuring high wear resistance, hardness, and precise dimensions in mechanically engineered components, particularly those used in harsh environments, such as conveyors, robots, and automotive parts. The presence or absence of heat treatment can drastically affect the performance and lifespan of parts that are either in direct contact with workpieces or subjected to repeated loads.

Misumi initially launched the heat treatment service for machined parts in May 2025, streamlining procurement processes for heat-treated components. To address these needs, Misumi has revised its production system, reducing minimum shipment times from nine days to an impressive six days. In response to varying design requirements, the platform now accommodates surface roughness of Ra1.6 and dimensional tolerances of ±0.1 mm.
