BE OPEN Regional Art Empowers Emerging Artists From Central Europe in 2026

BE OPEN Regional Art: A Platform for Emerging Artists in Central Europe

In 2026, BE OPEN Art, an innovative online gallery spearheaded by humanitarian expert Elena Baturina, continues its vital initiative—BE OPEN Regional Art. This program is now in its fourth year, striving to bolster the creative expressions of emerging artists from Central Europe by highlighting the artistic identities based on their regional, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

Every month, a selected group of 20 new artists is featured in the BE OPEN Art gallery. This initiative not just showcases their work but also engages the public in a voting mechanism to choose the 'Artist of the Month.' Furthermore, at the culmination of each four-month regional phase, one of these talented individuals will earn the title of 'Artist of the Region' along with a monetary scholarship—€500 financed by the popular vote among the audience and members of the BE OPEN artistic community.

Promoting Cultural Diversity

From May to August 2026, the spotlight will be on artists from the following Central European countries: Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Each region will be explored intricately, allowing a deep dive into the emerging artistic talent.

Elena Baturina emphasizes the profound impact these regional contests have on young artists. She states, "These contests help us support even more young artists. We hope that these additional resources will assist them in paving a successful career in the arts."

Each four-month regional event culminates in recognizing one artist who stands out based on public votes, as well as a special recognition for the founder’s favorite artist which comes with a €300 prize.

Community Engagement and Artistic Innovation

The continued efforts of BE OPEN Art parallel the regular functions of selecting 20 artists monthly, fostering a continuous cycle of exposure and recognition. The artists selected are not just chosen based on their aesthetic qualities, but also for their social consciousness and innovative approaches to contemporary injustices, inviting communities to interact and participate in the artistic discourse.

Building a Global Creative Network

BE OPEN stands not only as a cultural initiative but also as a universal movement that celebrates creativity and innovation. Its aim is to propel individuals and creative ideas to forge solutions for future challenges. Supported by Baturina, who is rooted in Austria, this global initiative makes significant strides in promoting arts while also addressing urgent social issues.

The engagement of the public in voting for their favorite artists ensures that this initiative remains community-oriented and responsive to the voices of those who appreciate art from these regions. Through features and interactions, BE OPEN Art seeks to discover new artistic leaders who will shape the future landscape of visual arts, making it a vibrant and diverse space.

In summary, BE OPEN Regional Art is much more than a competition; it's a celebration of cultural identities, transformative creativity, and the next generation of artistic talent emerging from Central Europe. By continuing to foster a platform for these artists, it bridges the gap between regional artistry and global recognition, nurturing a more inclusive art world.
