Exploring Liberal Arts Education in a Globalized VUCA World: A Special Online Seminar

Exploring Liberal Arts Education in a Globalized VUCA World

In an era characterized by globalization and rapid technological advancements, students are increasingly confronted with a complex array of societal challenges. This evolving landscape necessitates a unique skill set—one that allows individuals to critically analyze problems from multiple perspectives and devise creative solutions. At the forefront of cultivating such abilities is liberal arts education, which is receiving immense attention globally.

To delve into this subject, the Kawai Juku Overseas University Advancement Center will host a special online seminar on December 14, 2025, specifically designed for middle and high school students, as well as their parents. The event, titled "What and Where to Learn in the Global & VUCA Era? Understanding Liberal Arts Education," aims to engage participants in discussions led by both current students and alumni of American liberal arts colleges.

The seminar features insightful presentations from guests who have firsthand experience in the liberal arts education system in the United States. Attendees will learn how this form of education not only broadens participants' horizons but also influences their career paths post-graduation. For those considering comprehensive selection entrance examinations, the experiences shared during this seminar will serve as invaluable guidance.

The event will be facilitated by Masaru Yokoyama, a senior advisor at Kawai Juku, who will deliver the keynote address. The panel discussion will be moderated by Midori Matsunaga, the Director of the Study Abroad Guidance Department at AGOS Japan, who has closely worked with the panelists.

This seminar presents a rare opportunity to understand the "ability to think independently and take action," a core strength nurtured through liberal arts education. Participants can look forward to engaging dialogues and enlightening experiences.
