End-of-Life Haiku Award 2025

The End-of-Life Haiku Selection Committee proudly announces the launch of the 2025 End-of-Life Haiku Award. This unique contest invites participants from across the nation to express their thoughts and feelings on the theme of “end-of-life activities” through traditional 5-7-5 haikus.

The concept of “end-of-life” encompasses various preparations that individuals undertake while considering their mortality. This includes organizing personal belongings, planning funerals, managing properties, and setting up burial arrangements. It encourages reflection on how to live the remaining years of one’s life more meaningfully. Through this contest, we hope to gather insightful and heartfelt haikus that resonate with these themes.

Abundant Rewards Await Participants
Winners of the competition will be rewarded with exciting prizes, including a JTB travel voucher worth 100,000 yen for the grand prize winner, along with an Amazon gift certificate worth 30,000 yen for the excellence award and a 10,000 yen certificate for the special recognition award. Not only do participants have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, but they can also win attractive rewards!
The award-winning works will be announced at the End-of-Life Industry Exhibition 2025 held on September 11 at the Ariake GYM-EX in Koto, Tokyo, at the award presentation event.

Application Guidelines

To enter the contest, submit your haikus using the following link: Application Form

• - Eligibility: Open to residents of Japan
• - Entry Method: Submit your haikus through the provided application form.

Participants may submit up to five haikus each.
