HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2025: A New Era in Mobile Photography
HUAWEI has officially announced the commencement of the
HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2025, during a grand event celebrating the launch of the
HUAWEI Pura 80. This prestigious annual competition has evolved into a global showcase of mobile photography, allowing creators to exhibit their work and connect with audiences worldwide. Launched in 2017, the contest has garnered nearly five million submissions from participants across 170 countries, establishing itself as one of the world’s largest and most influential mobile photography competitions.
A Legacy of Innovation
Over the years, the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards have transcended conventional boundaries in mobile photography. By introducing groundbreaking features such as telephoto, macro, night mode, snapshot capability, portrait settings, color enhancement, and videography, HUAWEI continues to drive the evolution of mobile imaging. The newly unveiled
HUAWEI Pura 80 series further entrenches this commitment to innovation, promising exceptional functionality and creativity for mobile photographers.
Exciting New Categories
This year’s competition introduces several intriguing categories including
So Far So Close,
Good Night, and
Colour Shade, in addition to classic favorites such as
Faces,
A Heartwarming World,
Experimental Lab,
Storyboard, and
Action. The awards process is set to undergo notable changes, with
1,000 outstanding entries shortlisted by a panel of judges, who will then select the final
100 entries for special recognition, alongside the three esteemed “Photographers of the Year.”

The jury for this year features a formidable lineup of nine distinguished judges hailing from various professional backgrounds, including:
